Les Épopées, led by Stéphane Fuget, have joined forces with the vocalists Claire Lefilliâtre (soprano) and Luc Bertin-Hugault (bass baritone) to explore the airs sérieux of Chabanceau de La Barre, who belonged to one of the most prestigious dynasties of 17th-century French musicians.

La Barre's music showcases his innovative use of dance forms in his Airs. ‘Plus je pense à ma maîtresse’ exemplifies this by incorporating structures such as rondeau, chaconne, and passacaglia. These forms, influenced by Italian music, provide a repeatitive harmonic foundation on which La Barre builds expressive melodies.
