The 2 November recital was live streamed on Wigmore Hall's YouTube
Today’s Video of the Day is Wigmore Hall’s livestream of Rosa Feola and Carlo Rizzi’s recital as a part of Opera Rara’s multi-year Donizetti Song Project. The recital features lost and forgotten songs by Gaetano Donizetti as well as selections by his contemporaries. The Donizetti Song project will see Opera Rara record and perform the composer’s entire solo song output – nearly 200 in total, of which many have never been heard before.
Italian soprano Rosa Feola joins Opera Rara’s Artistic Director and pianist Carlo Rizzi with harpist Sally Pryce for the performance. The recital is supported by Colwinston Charitable Trust, Cockayne Grants for the Arts and London Community Foundation. Also, with special thanks to Opera Rara’s Donizetti Patron, His Excellency the Italian Ambassador. Opera Rara won Label of the Year at the 2024 Gramophone Awards earlier this autumn.
