Today’s Video of the Day is a performance of John Field’s ‘Nocturne No.9 in E Minor, H.46’ by Alice Sara Ott. This is the first single from Ott’s upcoming Deutsche Grammophon album ‘John Field: Complete Nocturnes’ where the pianist explores the origins of the nocturne. ‘Engaging with these Nocturnes was a deeply rewarding experience. Their beauty and grace affected me profoundly and enriched my life while I was preparing for this recording’, says Ott. The album is out on 7 February, the same day as Ott’s first concert on the tour taking place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
