Watch the first single from Ensemble Diderot's upcoming album
Today's Video of the Day is a performance of 'Se il cor guerriero' from Vivaldi's opera Tito Manlio, sung by Nahuel Di Pierro accompanied by Ensemble Diderot.
This is the first single from Ensemble Diderot's upcoming album and it's released on October 11.
The album, titled Fra l’ombre e gl’orrori, centres on 100 years of baroque opera bass and sees Argentinian opera bass Nahuel Di Pierro join Ensemble Diderot. He interprets arias from Seneca’s death (Monteverdi L’incoronazione di Poppea) to Polyphemus (Handel’s Aci, Galatea e Polifemo, which also lends part of its text to the title of this album – Fra l’ombre e gl’orrori translates as 'among the shadows and the horrors') as well as several world premieres. This is Ensemble Diderot’s debut recording in its expanded orchestral form and its first venture into recording opera. The project and programme are devised by Johannes Pramsohler, Ensemble Diderot’s founder and Director, and the ensemble’s harpsichordist Philippe Grisvard.
Fra l’ombre e gl’orrori will be released physically and digitally on November 15, on the Audax label.
