The shortlists of the Gramophone Classical Music Awards 2011 have been announced! Join Gramophone's Editor-in-Chief James Jolly and reviewer Richard Fairman as they discuss the three recordings which have made it to the shortlist of the Opera category, and listen to some excerpts.

The recordings are: Mozart's Die Zauberflöte conducted by René Jacobs on the Harmonia Mundi label, Rossini's Ermione from David Parry on Opera Rara, and Verdi's Otello from Sir Colin Davis on LSO Live.
