The Hanover Girls' Choir are a little over 50 strong and sing with a sweet, well-disciplined style. The singers are, however, a touch more solemn in performance than they appear from the jolly photograph on the sleeve, taking even Rossini's pieces (religious though they be) with a gravity that is not really the best approach to them. Schubert, Verdi, Brahms and Schumann all go very well, and it is really for the chance to hear some of the very inaccessible music listed above that the record is interesting. The sound is good and clear, if unexciting. At just over 42 minutes music, the record is slightly short measure.'
