As JD commented of the LP, the performances here are restrained, though not without atmosphere. The recording too is very good if forward. But compare the middle section of the most famous Granados Spanish dance (Op. 37 No. 5) with Julian Bream's electrifying solo performance (RCA CD RCD14378, 6/83) and one realizes how much lower the voltage is here. The background silence helps, but in short this is an amiable rather than a compelling recital.'
