Reger arranged Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos and Orchestral Suites as piano duets during the first decade of the present century. Ripieno parts are simplified in the interests of textural clarity but solo passages, broadly speaking, are preserved much as Bach wrote them. Performances, in the spirit of home music-making as Reger intended, are fluent and spirited. All six Brandenburgs can be found in a competing disc of somewhat weightier performances (MDG (CD) MDG330 0635-2).'
