I have little to add regarding these performances to what I wrote only two months ago, except to reinforce my advice that Estes's Hollander and Amfortas are well worth hearing, even more so now that they can be heard in the cleaner sound afforded by CD. However, this second review does give me an opportunity to correct a mistake in my original notice caused by a memory lapse: it seems Estes has yet to appear at Covent Garden, but will make his debut there next season. What I must have had in mind was Estes's 'appearance' as the Friar in the HMV/Covent Garden LP release of Don Carlos (SLS956, 7/71) conducted by Giulini.'
