I enjoyed much of this recital when I reviewed the LP. The programme is an attractive one, the playing lively for the most part—I noted too plodding a bass here and there—and the recorded sound effectively balanced though a little too resonant. The CD offers marginally more clarity than the LP though there is in the end little to choose between them. Vivaldi collectors almost certainly will have these concertos in other versions, except perhaps for the little string Concerto in D minor, RV127; but anyone whose library is in a period of early growth can invest in this issue with confidence for it gives a fair picture of the composer's characteristic manner. Not for 'authentiniks'.'
