Author:
''David Hill and the choir of Westminster Cathedral have brought to life a splendid selection of barely known music...that fully merits its title.'' I quote JM's review. He was not quite so enamoured of the performance, though he tried to be kind. I can be a little kinder to the recording as heard on the CD, which tries its best to unravel the multiple (I lost count) strands of the part singing and at the same time blend in proper amounts of the accompanying instrumentalists and the impressive reverberation of the Cathedral itself. On the whole it succeeds, now and again with some distinction. I particularly commend Guerrero's O Domine Jesu Christe and the Magnificat by Vivanco.'
