Little known in the UK, Elisabeth Klein is a veteran of the post-war European music scene, and a stalwart interpreter of Stockhausen. She makes the most of Klavierstuck IX’s fastidious dynamic shadings, and extracts enough variety from Klavierstuck XI’s open score to justify including an alternative version. The zodiac ditties of Tierkreis sound as enervating as ever, but the realizations of Plus-Minus and Litanei are a triumph of compositional insight. More than acceptable sound.'
