French liturgical and organ music from towards the end of the ancien regime, with that tuneful, galant feel that crept in, even at Notre Dame, as the eighteenth century wore on. The organ is the recently rebuilt Clicquot instrument in the Royal Chapel at Versailles, reedy and splendid, while the choir, resonantly recorded in the same building, is also excellent. Not profound, but certainly very pleasant.'
