Decca followed this CBS recording with Kiri Te Kanawa's selection and, issuing the CD in quick order (410 004-2DH, 7/83), rather scooped this CD which features many of the same songs. (Decca have since added others, 411 730-2DH, 1/85). Whatever one thinks of the respective performances, and JBS was in little doubt, Decca certainly have the engineering edge with clear delineation of voice and orchestra, nicely-judged depth and a much more believable setting.'
