Worth investigating if you have an adventurous spirit and an interest in contemporary vocal music. Patrick Burgan's La Puerta de la Luz, with its colourful word-painting, is perhaps the most compelling, while Olivier Kaspar's more traditional-sounding Mass has undeniable power if perhaps slightly less individuality. L'infinito, by Philippe Hersant, is an impressive contemporary madrigal cast in dark and sombre hues. Excellent performances, well recorded.
