The young Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, one of the newest members of the Erato artist roster, was recently featured in Gramophone’s ‘One to Watch’ column and we can look forward to his first solo album later this year. Orlinski, though, is something of an internet sensation – there are two performances on YouTube of the Vivaldi aria, ‘Vedrò, con mio diletto’, that have been watched tens of thousands of times, and this Good Friday, March 30, sees a studio recording with Il Pomo d’Oro being released by Erato as a digital single.

Orlinski was in London recently for performances of Handel’s Rinaldo with The English Concert and we took the opportunity to catch up – our Editor-in-Chief James Jolly went to meet him.
