'In Circles', the latest Sony Classical album from saxophonist Amy Dickson, 'puts a girdle round the earth' and evokes the deserts of Australia, the rolling countryside of Southern England and the Scottish Highlands as conjured up by Sir James MacMillan in a concerto written especially for Dickson. In this Gramophone Podcast, our Editor Martin Cullingford talked to her about the album and some of the collaborations involved, including working with the celebrated didgeridoo player William Barton.
Listen to Amy Dickson playing Sir James MacMillan's Saxophone Concerto in this week's Listening Room on Spotify and Apple Music.
