78th Concours de Genève prize winners announced

The international music competition took place from 15-22 October

The 78th Concours de Genève, dedicated to Voice and Composition, took place from 15 to 22 October. The First Prize of the vocal competition went to soprano Chelsea Marilyn Zurflüh. The 28-year-old Swiss singer also won the nine special prizes. The second prize was awarded to baritone Jungrae Noah Kim. First place won CHF 20000 (£17,798.10) and Second Place won CHF 12000 (£10,678.86).

The Voice Competition is open to all singers born after 22 October 1992. The three finalists performed on 22 October at the Grand Théâtre de Genève with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Alevtina Ioffe. Patricia Petibon was Chair of the jury, which included Aviel Cahn, André Comploi, Jean Denes, Sophie de Lint, Susan Manoff and Waltraud Meier.
