When opera singers bring their children to work...

SWAP'ra is a newly-established charity supporting women and parents in the world of opera. They will be holding their inaugural gala concert at Opera Holland Park on July 31, which will include singers Giselle Allen, Yvonne Howard, Jennifer Johnston, Janis Kelly, Diana Montague, Amanda Roocroft and Catherine Wyn Rogers, accompanied by the all-female SWAP'ra Orchestra.

SWAP'ra 'was established in response to a collective frustration with the unconscious gender bias in the opera industry. The aim of the organisation is to foster an environment in which a female CEO, Music Director, Artistic Director, Conductor, Composer or Librettist is no longer noteworthy.' Opera stars have contributed photos of themselves at work with their children to promote SWAP'ra's cause, and you can enjoy the gallery by clicking on any of the images above.
