A detailed look at the remastering process behind DG's new box-set

If you've ever listened to a 'remastered' recording and wondered what the process actually involves, DG have produced a detailed look at the remastering process behind the 1979 recording of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony by Leonard Bernstein with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

The remastered Ninth is included in a new box-set of the complete Beethoven symphonies at 24 bit/192 kHz in 5.0 surround sound. The box-set includes both CD and Blu-ray versions. In the video below, you can see just how much of the sound spectrum is revealed when recordings go beyond standard CD quality:
