Wayne Marshall performs improvisations on Gershwin’s ‘Summertime’

Pianist and conductor Wayne Marshall performs these beautiful improvisations on Gershwin’s ‘Summertime’ in the Great Gallery at the historic Palace of Holyroodhouse as part of Edinburgh International Festival’s At Home digital programme.

One of the best-loved songs from the pioneering jazz opera Porgy and Bess, Wayne Marshall’s Summertime resonates through the largest room in the Palace of Holyroodhouse, surrounded by paintings of past Scottish monarchs.
