Music Director John Butt introduces the Cambridge Music Festival performance with illustrated talk
Today's Video of the Day is a wonderful film of the Dunedin Consort performing Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No 5, made by the Cambridge Music Festival. Prior to the performance Music Director John Butt offers a fascinating and thoroughly engaging 15 minute illustrated talk about the work. The film will go live at 6pm - it will be available to watch below, and also for two weeks after that.
Should you need any further encouragement to watch, when the two-time Gramophone Award winning Dunedin Consort released a recording of the Brandenburg concertos on the Linn label in 2013, our reviewer David Vickers wrote: 'this set is nothing short of sensational'.
If you enjoyed this free performance, do please consider making a donation to the Cambridge Music Festival, which like all arts organisations has been hit hard by the impact of Covid-19. You can do so by clicking this link: cambridgemusicfestival.co.uk/donate
