New orchestral arrangement of the work commissioned for Biden's Presidential inauguration
American composer/conductor Peter Boyer’s new album, recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, is out today on Naxos. The centerpiece of the album is Balance of Power, a three-movement, 19-minute work commissioned by the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in honour of the 95th birthday of Henry Kissinger, former US Secretary of State, which was premiered last September.
Also among the album's eight works - including six world premieres - is Fanfare for Tomorrow, commissioned by the US Marine Band for the inauguration of President Joseph Biden. Laurence Vittes wrote about the commission in our pages last year, describing the result as 'a bold, heroic response' - and we're delighted to bring you a performance of the new orchestral version, recorded at London's Henry Wood Hall, below.
You can listen to Peter Boyer's new album, 'Balance of Power', below, via Apple Music.
