Soprano and composer, Héloïse Werner performs her piece 'Lullaby For A Sister'

Today's Video of the Day comes from soprano and composer, Héloïse Werner with a performance of Lullaby For A Sister, the first single from her upcoming album Close-ups

Described by Presto Music as a 'a dizzying tapestry of conceptual threads', the composer wanted to create a programme with a cohesive narrative arc, one that the listener can enjoy in their own time and their own way. Werner wanted to assemble a group of musicians who both share in her concept but also bring to the project their own varied musical personalities to complement Héloïse’s own distinctive voice. Her collaborator's include Colin Alexander (cello), Julian Azkoul (violin), Max Baillie (violin), Kit Downes (piano), Ruth Gibson (viola) and Marianne Schofield (double bass).

Lullaby For A Sister is out today (14 June) and the accompanying album Close-ups is due for global release on 28 June on Delphian Records. Héloïse features on the Gramophone Classical Music Podcast on 28 June.
