Today's Video of the Day comes from Ex Cathedra with their performance of Domine ad adjuvandum from Monteverdi's Vespers at Birmingham Town Hall.
Published in 1610, Monteverdi's Vespro della Beata Vergine was written in dedication to the Virgin Mary. The piece derives its name from the evening Catholic service and the thirteen-movement work includes a variety of different styles and musical techniques, combining excerpts from different religious texts.
Renowned as 'one of Britain’s very best choirs' by the New York Times, Ex Cathedra stands as a beacon of excellence in the choral world. With over 50 years of captivating performances and innovative projects, they continue to inspire and nurture young talents, enriching both the stage and the hearts of their audience.
