A beautiful live performance of Kennedy's own composition, dedicated to Yehudi Menuhin
In this video exclusive, Nigel Kennedy plays Solitude from his upcoming album 'My World' with the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin. 'My World' features compositions by Kennedy for string orchestra, piano and rock band. Many of the works are inspired by other violinists who were instrumental in Kennedy's musical development, including Yehudi Menuhin, Isaac Stern and Stéphane Grappelli.
Solitude is dedicated to Menuhin, a performer who had a formative influence on Kennedy, as he explains: 'I feel that Yehudi Menuhin gives me a direct route back to the music of Bach. Also Menuhin paid for my education at his school so without him I would probably not be playing classical music at all.'
'My World' will be released on December 23 by Neue Meister. For more information, visit: neue-meister-music.com
