The Royal Festival Hall organ returns!

On Tuesday the restored organ of the Royal Festival Hall was played in public for the first time in a decade. Following a £2.3m fundraising campaign - including £1.3m donated by the public - the great Harrison & Harrison instrument, also marking its 60th anniversary, has now been re-installed, and is being celebrated with a two-week festival. Called Pull out all the stops, the festival includes eight new works commisioned by the Southbank Centre, two weekends of free activites aimed at helping people better understand the organ, and the performances of major orchestral works featuring the organ, including Saint-Saëns’s Organ Symphony.
