Charles Hazlewood will follow 2009's successful outdoor classical music event, Play the Field, with Orchestra in a Field, held in the parklands of Glastonbury Abbey on the weekend of June 30 and July 1 this year.

The event includes a concert performance of Bizet's Carmen, a performance of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, and a revival of 70s classic Tubular Bells. Plus there's the first performance from Hazlewood's new disabled Paraorchestra, in association with London 2012, and his Scrapheap Orchestra, which debuted at the Proms last year, performs Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. There is also a Community Choir Sing-Off, events for children and a Food Emporium.
