We all love lists, and we all love sharing our musical passions with our friends.

Each week we'll respond to topical events, or to important anniversaries, with at least one new list – but we'll also try to be a little serendipitous and come up with some Top Tens that will open your ears to some great new music. And under each list we invite you to suggest recordings of your own to add to our reccomendations.

Here are our tens (newest from the top).

Ten great Tito Gobbi recordings

Ten great Purcell recordings

Ten violin concertos by living composers

Top ten 20th-century violin concertos

The Best of Brahms – ten essential works

Top 10 Domingo recordings

10 Greatest Mozart works

Ten of the Best – Essential operas

Top 10 Stravinsky recordings
