Some exciting news from Gramophone!

Have you ever felt that our cover-mounted CD doesn’t contain enough music? Have you, like many of us, wished there was space on the disc for longer excerpts? Even complete performances? All of these things and more are now possible, thanks to the onward march of technology and a terrific new offering.

We are proud to announce that in a couple of weeks we will be launching the new Gramophone Player. Not only will it be an easy way to access and listen to some great recordings, it will allow us to bring you far more music than could be fitted onto the CD. The Gramophone Player will allow you to stream:

- Longer excerpts from the monthly “Editor’s Choice” recordings
- An in-vision excerpt from the DVD of the month
- A complete recording every month, related to one of the magazine’s main features
- A treasurable complete archive recording sourced by the Gramophone editorial team
- Other music excerpts, illustrating features in the magazine
- Gramophone podcasts
- Other video, such as from the Gramophone Awards

I hope that you will agree this is an exciting new development. It does mean that we will no longer be producing the CD which, not incidentally, is a positive step in our quest to make Gramophone as environmentally-friendly as possible. But the media player will enable us to bring you around three times as much music every month, and that is great news for music-lovers.
