English National Opera will revive Anthony Minghella's 2005 Olivier Award-winning production of Puccini's Madam Butterfly for six weeks from October 14 to December 1. The performances will be conducted by Tbilisi State Opera music director Gianluca Marcianò (who makes his ENO debut) and Martin Fitzpatrick. Directed by Sarah Tipple, the revival cast is headed by Dina Kuznetsova and Minghella's original Butterfly Mary Plazas in the title role, and also features Timothy Richards as Pinkerton, Pamela Helen Stephen as Suzuki, and George von Bergen as Sharpless.
