The Southbank Centre's children's festival 'Imagine' this year features two special hour-long concerts for young people conducted by Charles Hazlewood. Held on February 11 and 18 at the Royal Festival Hall, the events feature the Philharmonia Orchestra and over 300 young instrumentalists and vocalists from the London Borough of Southwark. The first of the two concerts includes a complete performance of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition and the second includes Dvořák's New World Symphony. Each features art and music compositions by young people inspired by these works. Hazlewood also leads a series of workshops with young Southwark musicians throughout the week.
