The British Film Institute presents 'The Genius of Hitchcock' over the summer months, including screenings of all 58 surviving Hitchcock films at BFI Southbank between August and October.

The season also showcases four restored silent films, screened across London as part of the London 2012 Festival, with newly commissioned live scores by contemporary composers - the culmination of a 3-year BFI National Archive project, 'Rescue the Hitchcock 9', to restore the director's silent films.

Already screened has been The Pleasure Garden (1926) with music by Daniel Patrick Cohen (Wilton's Music Hall, June 28 & 29). Coming up are Blackmail (1929) with music by Neil Brand (British Museum, outdoor screening, July 6); The Ring (1927) with music by Soweto Kinch (Hackney Empire, July 13); and The Lodger: a Tale of the London Fog (1926) with music by Nitin Sawhney (Barbican, July 21). Hitchcock's Champagne (1928) will also be screened at BFI Southbank on September 27 with a new score by electronica artist Mira Calix.
