The 2018 Malko Competition for young conductors will be live-streamed on this website, beginning on Sunday morning (April 22, 10:25CET). Twenty-four conductors will compete for the top prize over a week of competition, a shortlist whittled down from the 566 applications that Fabio Luisi and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra originally received. The Malko Competition has been a launchpad for top-flight conductors, including Joshua Weilerstein and Rafael Payare, so it is sure to make for fascinating viewing.
