To mark the 100th anniversary of Claude Debussy's death, Warner Classics has produced a three-part documentary series. We are pleased to introduce Part 1 of 'In the Footsteps of Debussy'

This year, the centenary of Claude Debussy's death will be celebrated with live performances and recordings the world over. And the year has started with a quite irresistible release for anyone interested in Debussy's music: 'Claude Debussy: The Complete Works'. Warner Classics, which has compiled the 33-disc set, describe it as 'the most complete recorded collection of his music that has ever been assembled'.

Warner Classics has also produced a three-part documentary about Debussy's life and music, filmed at the Maison Claude Debussy (his birthplace), Saint-Germain-en-Laye, and featuring contributions from noted Debussy scholars and performers. You can enjoy the first part of 'In the Footsteps of Debussy' below, and the Parts 2 and 3 will be released on the Gramophone website over the next two weeks.
