Warner Classics have signed the 17-year-old trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary, her debut album will be released in Autumn 2017 and will feature both jazz and classical works.

The album, which will be called 'A Voice', includes a tribute to Vary's idol Chet Baker in the form of the song My Funny Valentine. 'Chet Baker is a god for me. He played it and sang it, the perfect blend of voice and trumpet; I can listen to him over and over again and the way he plays touches me enormously. This arrangement is my homage to Chet.'

Warner Classics was named Label of the Year at this year's Gramophone Awards and is the label of another leading trumpet soloist, Alison Balsom, who is interviewed by Sarah Kirkup in the December issue of Gramophone.
