American Tenor Bryan Hymel, who made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 2012 (as Aeneas in Berlioz's Les troyens), has signed an exclusive recording contract with Warner Classics. Alain Lanceron, President of Warner Classics, said, 'Hymel has rapidly established himself as a leading light among the new generation of tenors'. Hymel said, 'I am looking forward to the opportunity to record the repertoire that has brought me to leading theatres around the world.'

When reviewing the DVD release of Les troyens (filmed at the Royal Opera House by Opus Arte), Richard Wigmore noted that 'Hymel is a match for Jon Vickers in Aeneas’s searing "Inutiles regrets"'. Hymel also received a favourable review from Richard Fairman for his assumption of the role of Robert in Meyerbeer's Robert le diable (2012 Royal Opera House production, Opus Arte), 'Bryan Hymel deals skilfully with the title-role, reaching up to the high Cs, even at one point a D, with impressive ease.'

Hymel's future live opera performances include La bohème at the Met (September 2014) and Dallas Opera (March 2015), Guillaume Tell at Bayerusche Staatsoper (June 2014), Anna Bolena at the Lyric Opera of Chicago (December 2014) and Les troyens at San Francisco Opera (June 2015).
