Pianist to help bring music to children and their families facing illness and bereavement
Pianist Lang Lang's International Music Foundation has formed two new partnerships to bring hope and inspiration to children and their families facing illness and bereavement.
Through the partnerships, LLIMF will offer the children and families helped by Richard House - the London children’s hospice - and Child Bereavement UK new films by leading artists, musicians, songwriters and music producers.
Clare Bullen, Head of Clinical Services, Child Bereavement UK, talked about the significance of music to their work: 'Young people we support tell us that creative activities, such as making music, really help them to express their feelings and cope with their grief; it’s fantastic to be able to share with them these inspirational films from such talented artists.'
Lucy Welford, Trusts and Foundations Manager, Richard House, added: 'At Richard House, we see every day how music can make a real difference to life-limited children’s wellbeing, encouraging them to express themselves, communicate in new ways, and most of all, have fun.'
Here's Lang Lang himself introducing the music-making that will be offered through the partnership.
