First recording under the partnership will be Mozart, on Erato
French clarinettist Pierre Génisson has signed to Warner Classics, where he will record for the Erato label. His first recording under the exclusive partnership – a Mozart album recorded with Concerto Köln – will be released in late October.
Génisson, who lives in Marseille, trained in Paris at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique and in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California. His repertoire embraces classical, as well as jazz and folk music, while collaborations with composers have led to works being dedicated to him by Thierry Escaich, Karol Beffa and Eric Tanguy.
‘To become part of the Warner Classics family is both a landmark and a turning point in my career,’ said Pierre Génisson. ‘I am honoured and delighted to have the opportunity to work with Alain Lanceron [President of Warner Classics & Erato] and his team, who are welcoming, receptive and supportive as we discuss plans for the future. It is an inspiring partnership and I look forward to presenting the recordings it produces to the public.’
Lanceron described Génisson as ‘a major talent on the French and international musical scene. He is a musician of great sensitivity and finesse – whatever he plays will be filled with expression and emotion. As a performer he immediately captivates an audience, while his modesty, enthusiasm and generosity make him an ideal colleague and teacher.’
