Student wins chance to record on 300-year-old Stradivarius

The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) has awarded a student the opportunity to record on a 300-year-old Stradivarius violin. Sixteen-year-old Laura Ayoub was chosen to play a piece of her choice on the instrument, recorded in SARM Studios. She also received a surprise masterclass with violinist Nicola Benedetti.
The competition was held to celebrate the realease of the new ABRSM violin exam syllabus on the ABRSM Music Exam website in partnership with PureSolo - the online educational tool, which enables students to record their performances of syllabus music over professional backing tracks.
