The Royal Opera House have announced the launch of a new streaming service, giving exclusive access to the backstage and archive of The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera companies. With 45 productions available to stream from launch, The Royal Opera House Stream will provide users access to new performances and footage every month.

The suite has launched with well-known opera house performances, including Frederick Ashton’s La Fille mal gardée, Christopher Wheeldon’s The Winter’s Tale, Wagner’s Die Walküre, Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Anna Nicole and Puccini’s dramatic opera, Tosca.

Catering for both seasoned theatre goers and those interested in learning and experiencing more, the stream provides a collection of back-stage films and masterclasses of the company’s most renowned artists, conductors and choreographers, offering a unique look at the production process.

The service costs £9.99 per month, or £99 a year to access, showcasing a plethora of both cutting-edge contemporary and classical performances. Famously pulling in thousands over the Christmas season for The Royal Ballet’s performances of The Nutcracker, ROH Stream introduces a specially-curated collection, Christmas Classics, as well as further collections for families and those with special theatrical interests.
