The Takács Quartet's first violin on the challenges of performing Beethoven, and life on tour and in the studio

Edward Dusinberre, the first violin of the Gramophone Award-winning Takács Quartet, has recently published a book, Beethoven for a Later Age (Faber).

He recently joined Gramophone's James Jolly for an EFG Gramophone Conversation at the London Review Bookshop in Bloomsbury. In this podcast, taken from that conversation, Dusinberre covers the experience of joining an established quartet fresh out of Juilliard, the challenges of the Beethoven quartets, a life of touring and also the experience of recording.
