Jess Gillam is inviting more musicians to join her for the second outing of her Virtual Scratch Orchestra. The saxophonist, signed to Decca Classics, premiered the orchestra’s inaugural performance, of David Bowie’s Where Are We Now?, on April 22 with the help of 934 participants from 26 countries, all accompanying her on a variety of instruments.

For the next performance, Gillam has chosen The Beatles’ Let It Be to coincide with the 50^th anniversary of the eponymous album’s release. This time, she is calling on singers as well as instrumentalists to join her. Once again, the project is open to all abilities and ages (the David Bowie performance saw instrumentalists aged from six to 81 taking part). 'To me, the message Let It Be holds is very pertinent for the time we find ourselves in,' said Gillam. 'It’s one of togetherness, positivity and love … We have parts specifically designed for beginners and also parts for singers. I really hope you can join us!'

All video recordings must be submitted by 5pm BST on Wednesday May 27. The premiere, which will involve all the parts being stitched together and Gillam performing a solo over the top, will be premiered on her YouTube channel at 5pm BST on Saturday June 6.
