His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales will talk about the role of music in his life, when he takes part in BBC Radio 3’s Private Passions. The heir to the throne is well known for his love of, and support for, classical music, and in the programme will tell presenter Michael Berkeley about his early childhood experiences of attending ballet and concerts with his grandmother, The Queen Mother, as well as playing the cello while at Cambridge University. He’ll also discuss the choice of music for his wedding to The Duchess of Cornwall.

The special edition of Private Passions – marking 1000 episodes of the programme – will be broadcast on Boxing Day on the new BBC Sounds app, before being broadcast on Radio 3 on December 30.
