Ben Collyer joins Sinfonia Smith Square's 2024/2025 Fellowship programme

For the first time Sinfonia Smith Square will welcome an Organ Fellow, Ben Collyer, as a part of their Fellowship orchestra for 2024/2025.

Collyer gained his Associateship of the Royal College of Organists whilst at Chetham’s School of Music, before going on to be the University of Oxford’s Organ Scholar at Christ Church Cathedral. He was also the Organ Scholar at St. Paul’s Cathedral from 2021-2022, while completing his Master’s degree at the Royal College of Music, under the Newton Scarth Scholarship. During this time, he was involved in the national Platinum Jubilee Service for HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Collyer joins 33 other musicians in Sinfonia Smith Square’s 2024/2025 Fellowship Orchestra. The scheme provides opportunities for promising professional musicians, giving them both experience and guidance. Every Fellowship place is free, and every player receives a bursary. The Fellowship allows the up-and-coming musicians to develop creatively and build contacts within the world of orchestral music.  They will perform in a series of concerts throughout the year.
