The Genesis Sixteen is The Sixteen’s free young artists’ programme. Aimed at 18-23 year-olds with the goal to nurture the next generation of talented ensemble singers, The Genesis Sixteen is now in its 14th year with previous participants going on to tour the world, as well as performing with The Sixteen.

In addition to the singing programme, the organisation offers a conducting scholarship. Also fully funded, the individual has the opportunity to be mentored by conductor and founder of The Sixteen Harry Christophers CBE as well as Eamonn Dougan, the associate conductor. The scholar is invited to lead their own rehearsals and conduct several performances throughout the year, including for a BBC Radio 3 broadcast.

The chosen Genesis Sixteen will benefit from group tuition, individual mentoring, one-per-part consort training from members of The Sixteen and masterclasses run by some of the world’s top vocal experts free of charge.

Harry Christophers CBE, Founder & Conductor of The Sixteen said: ‘Above all, singing is fun, it’s collaborative and with Genesis Sixteen lifelong friendships are created. We cannot thank John Studzinski and the Genesis Foundation enough for having the vision and determination to help us make this programme the success story it is.’

The new cohort are (sopranos) Lingling Bao-Smith, Madeline Eaton, Nasreen Gill, Ischia Gooda, Talia Liebermann, Katie Meredith, Eleanor Miles-Kingston, (altos) Rachael Best-Babayeju, Adrianna Forbes-Dorant, Eve Garrard, Benjamin Irvine-Capel, Lily Robson, (tenors) Monty Charles, Temi Lasekan, Joseph Martin, Benjamin Thompson, Hugo Williamson, (basses) Thomas John, John Rhys Liddington, Donncha McDonagh, Iris Oliver, Joseph Ward.
