Gramophone editor-in-chief James Jolly and Gramophone editor James Inverne discuss the three contending recital recordings in the 2011 Gramophone Classical Music Awards, which this year are presented in association with Steinway & Sons.
They are: mezzo Joyce DiDonato's 'Diva Divo' (Virgin Classics); contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux's 'Ne me refuse pas' (Naïve); and tenor Jonas Kaufmann's 'Verismo Arias' (Decca).
