Monday, September 5, 2011

Gramophone Online Editor Martin Cullingford and reviewer Richard Lawrence discuss the three contending recordings in the Baroque Vocal category in the 2011 Gramophone Classical Music Awards, which this year are presented in association with Steinway & Sons.

The recordings are: Handel's Flavio from the Early Opera Company directed by Christian Curnyn (Chandos Chaconne), Lully's Béllerophon with Les Talens Lyriques directed by Chrostophe Rousset (Aparté) and Handel's Apollo e Dafne ('Le cantate italiane di Handel VII' on Glossa). To learn more about these recordings visit the Baroque Vocal page of our Awards section – and visit Gramophone Online on October 6 to find you which of these three recordings has taken the Award.
