Video of the Day features Chinese classical guitarist Xuefei Yang, performing Tárrega’s Recuerdos de la Alhambra by the River Thames in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

One of the most famous works for solo guitar, Recuerdos de la Alhambra was written in 1899 and has become known for the virtuosic tremolo technique that it requires. Yang's performance uses rubato to shape the phrases, bringing out the different voice layers in the piece. 

It is one of the works on her latest album, Guitar Favourites, available now on Decca Classics.
