Exclusive: Liszt's Transcendental Étude No 11, 'Harmonies du soir', played by Boris Giltburg

We are pleased to present an exclusive, live performance of Liszt's Transcendental Étude No 11, 'Harmonies du soir', played by Boris Giltburg.

Giltburg won Gramophone's Chamber Award last year for his collaboration with the Pavel Haas Quartet in Dvořák's Piano Quintet, and his recording of Liszt's Piano Sonata (part of his 'Romantic Sonatas' album) was an Editor's Choice recording in 2013, with reviewer Bryce Morrison noting: 'in the Liszt Sonata the playing is of such an unfaltering command that it allows for the finest expressive power. Giltburg’s fingerwork and the even strength of his octaves are things to marvel at but what makes the playing so special is the seriousness of the approach.'

Giltburg's new recording of Liszt's Transcendental Études is out now on Naxos. For further information, please visit: naxos.com

The session was filmed at Jaques Samuel Pianos Showroom in London, by Stewart French of Fly On The Wall.
